Through August          Feast of Lanterns Museum exhibit

The Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History is hosting an exhibit that will walk the visitors through the 104 year history of the Feast of Lanterns. Exhibit runs through August.

 Through July               Feast of Lanterns Art Show

The Feast of Lanterns will show the Art Competition entries at the Museum of Natural History.. A portion of all art sales benefit the Feast of Lanterns and the Museum. Show runs through July.

Saturday, July 18        Family Fun Day at the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History

Join the Royal Court for Family Fun Day at the Museum. There will be lots of activities for the entire family, including the traditional Chalk Fest. 11am to 3pm.

Thursday, July 23        Official Feast of Lanterns Opening Ceremony

Join the Royal Court for the 2009 Feast of Lanterns official Opening Ceremony. Refreshments will be served; 1pm at the Elmarie Dyke Open Space Park

Friday, July 24             Pet Parade

Come one, come all – join the Royal Court as they lead the young and young-of- heart and their pets in a march down Lighthouse Avenue. Costumes from around the world encouraged. Parade participants gather in Caledonia Park at 2pm. Parade starts at 2:30pm.

Friday, July 24             Street Dance

Join the Royal Court to dance, dance, dance! Learn dances from around the world. Dance with the Royal Court. The party starts at 6pm, on Lighthouse Avenue at Congress Avenue. (In front of JR Rouse Real Estate offices)

Saturday, July 25        Pageant Day at Lovers Point Park

Children’s activities start at 11am; Feast of Foods at noon; Flag Ceremony on the Pier followed by entertainment; sponsors walk, introduction of the Royal Court and the pantomime of the Legend of the Blue Willow with the lighted boat parade and entertainment representing people from around the world begins at 8pm. The evening culminates with a canopy of fireworks over the Cove.

Sunday, July 26             Closing Ceremony at Jewell Park

Bring your picnic lunch and join the Royal Court for an afternoon of entertainment, refreshments, and fun. Opportunity Drawing winners announced. 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Join the Feast of Lanterns Team of Volunteers – it’s fun, fun, fun!

Each year the Feast of Lanterns depends on its volunteers to work to with its Board of Directors to put on all the wonderful events the community enjoys each year.  We need help with planning and with the execution of the events.
